Friends and Family of Incarcerated Persons, Inc. (FFIP) is a non-profit organization that provides support to people who have loved ones in the prison system. Support is provided through meetings, communication, education and events like the annual FFIP Holiday Party. The FFIP Holiday Party provides a safe environment for family members to come together and celebrate the holidays with others who understand and support each other.
The festivities were started with a blessing from Sophia Falke, of Embracing Greatness. She provided words of inspiration on how everyone needs to take care of themselves so they can stay healthy and support their loved ones involved in the prison system.
They also had a photo booth provided by Liz and her family from their Nevada-based company, “Specialty Photo Booths of Las Vegas”, where everyone could take humorous pictures with hats, glasses and other props. ( Personal picture taking was limited to maintain everyone’s privacy.)
The highlight of the event was when Mr. AND Mrs. Clause entered the hall and greeted the children. Once Mr. and Mrs. Clause made their way to their special seats by the beautifully decorated tree, the children lined up to spend time with them. Santa’s elves helped Santa select gifts for all the children. Not only did all of the children receive a gift from Santa, there was also a raffle for the adults.
Everyone sang songs, received holiday cheer and filled their tummies with delicious food.
